Beloit Historical Society at the Farmers Market -

Beloit Historical Society at the Farmers Market

It’s going to be a great day at the Beloit Farmers Market on Saturday, July 18th!  The Beloit Historical Society will be set up on the corner of State and Grand with a fun-filled booth!

Photo fun

Visitors can have their photos taken with costumed re-enactors and then upload them to on Instagram.  We will also have some props to use for the photos to make them really cool.

Your Beloit

Another really exciting thing we will be doing is to create a “Beloit Memory Board” where everyone – from children to adults of all ages, can record their very own personal memory of Beloit.  It could be your favorite place you went to as a kid, or maybe your earliest memory of a location or object in Beloit.  We will have a large map and to mark “your spot” and then have you write your memory on a card, which will become a permanent record at the Historical Society.

Go back in time… to play games!

There will also be some old-time games for kids and adults to try out and old time penny candy, plus a drawing for prizes!  I hope everyone will stop by and see us on Saturday, July 18th – at the corner of State and Grand!

Beloit Historical Society

I grew up on a dairy farm outside Beloit, and worked for the Chief of Police in Beloit for over 22 years. Since I retired in 2012, I keep very busy as President of the Beloit Historical Society. I also love to travel with my husband and work on decorating our home; plus now I have a new little granddaughter to babysit! I love Beloit and all the wonderful things about it! We have friendly, caring citizens, great shopping, Midwest values and many cultural/educational opportunities – all wrapped up in this beautiful state of Wisconsin.
