The Travel Wisconsin Welcome Center and rest area are located just off northbound Interstate 39/90 right after crossing the border from from Illinois into Wisconsin. The rest area is very popular, serving a million and a half visitors a year!
Formerly operated by the State Department of Tourism, the Beloit Travel Wisconsin Welcome Center re-opened in 2011. Now, the welcome center is locally operated by Visit Beloit.
From late fall through early spring we are open 5 days a week, Tuesday through Saturday. During our busy tourism season beginning in May, we are open 7 days a week! The welcome center employs a staff of 6 part time employees and 2 volunteers who serve a total of over 120,000 visitors face-to-face each year!
We offer free literature for the entire state of Wisconsin, including county and city guides, attractions and events guides, state lodging and camping guides, biking information, state park guides, and much more!

At the Travel Wisconsin Welcome Center, the highest number of inquires we get about Beloit are about Beloit College. We get a number of families asking for information on their way to visit the college. We enjoy suggesting local places for them to dine, shop, and play!
What is our highest visitor count since re-opening in 2011?
On Friday, August 30, 2013 we served about 1,363 visitors! Many of them were headed to the Harley Davidson 110th Anniversary in Milwaukee including 80 bikers from Brazil that stopped at the rest area for a break.
